Soldier Saint Steward, LLC has an Entrepreneurship through Acquisition Internship position available focused on the development and implementation of outreach programs at all stages of small business acquisition.

Potential Projects and Experiences:

Small Business Valuation

Leveraged Buyout Modeling

Database Management

Customer Relationship Management Integration

Negotiations

Company / Broker Outreach

Specific topics covered include among others, introduction to entrepreneurship through acquisition, finding the right deal, applying valuation methods and techniques, determining pricing, leveraged buyout modeling, and negotiations related to small business acquisitions.

Each week we will progress through the following topics:

1. Intro to Search Fund, NDAs, & Contact methods

2. Intro to Valuation Discussion

Case 1: Valuation

3. Case 1 Discussion

4. Intro to LBO

Case 2. LBO

5. Case 2 Discussion

Case 3. Buy or Sell (Team Competition)

6. Buy or Sell Discussion (by Team)

7. Negotiations fundamentals & best practice

Negotiations Case

8. Negotiations Discussion

9. Business Analysis (throughout & as available)

Education and Experience Requirements:

Background in Accounting, Finance, management, or other related discipline

Strong communication skills

Proficient in Microsoft Suite Office (especially excel)

Organized with an ability to work efficiently remotely

Interested in values-based leadership and community development

Time Requirement:

Hours are flexible (Part-Time Workload)

Remote work

One (1x) weekly meeting will be held as a group to discuss the learning materials as well as review the past week’s work / learning topic. All work and cases will be done remotely at the intern’s discretion. Additional meetings may be held digitally on as needed. An intern may not be maintained if unable to attend weekly meetings or complete part-time work load remotely.

This internship is unpaid.

You will be working directly with an entrepreneur seeking one small business to purchase and operate for his career. This is more commonly referred to a ‘Search Fund’ or ‘Entrepreneurship through Acquisition.’ You will be providing an integral role in supporting the early stages of the search through refining company information, contacting brokers, valuating opportunities, and negotiating beginning stages of a deal. If selected, your weekly responsibilities will be split between academic case studies (Valuation, LBO, & Negotiations) as well as ‘Search’ related work.
