For additional information about the duties of this position, please contact Danna Rode at 541-786-1720 and danna.rode@usda.govResponsibilitiesPerform office support activities such as, paycheck and time accounting, purchasing, record keeping, and incoming/outgoing mail and parcel support.Develop program support processes to meet unit needs (e.g., Administrative Office Procedures Handbook, files maintenance, etc.).Oversee business processes, e.g. maintaining tracking logs, action items, managing administrative suspense items and transaction records.Review outgoing correspondence for proper format, grammar, punctuation, etc., in accordance with unit guidelines.Make travel arrangements and submit payment documents in a web-based system.Maintain budget records and supporting materials to ensure adequate compliance for audits and historical reference.Distribute administrative information to unit employees and serve as liaison for administrative support provided to the unit.Schedule conferences and meetings for a business or organization, including arranging logistics, preparing agendas, and notifying participants.RequirementsConditions of EmploymentQualificationsIn order to qualify, you must meet the eligibility and qualifications requirements as defined below by the closing date of the announcement. Provide course descriptions as necessary. To qualify at the GS-7 grade level, you must possess specialized experience in the amounts listed below.At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 grade level in federal service. To qualify, experience reflected in your resume must include 52 weeks of ALL of the following: Implementing systems or administrative processes to meet unit needs. Receiving and reviewing all formal ingoing/outgoing correspondence for proper format, grammar, punctuation, etc. Using automated databases and software to produce reports and record information. Establishing and maintaining manual and electronic records and filing systems. Producing written documentation, reports, memos, etc. in final format. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
