SummaryYou will serve as a TELECOMMUNICATIONS TECHNICIAN in the CORPUS CHRISTI BCO, SOUTHEAST BCO DIVISION, EXTERNAL SUPPORT DEPARTMENT of NCTAMSLANT NORVA.ResponsibilitiesYou will inform the Base Communications (BCO) Manager of any and all changes that will involve new installations or require switch or infrastructure expansions or consolidations of telecommunications services.You will prepare and process Request for Issuance of Funding Document (RIFD), BCO Telephone Work Requests (TWRs) and supporting procurement documentation for telephone equipment and services.You will assist the BCO Manager and senior Telecommunications Specialist in analyzing site equipment condition, identifying malfunctioning devices, developing a course of actions for repairs to ensure telecommunications equipment is operational.You will assist the BCO Manager in the development of detailed plans, setting priorities for projects, preparing budgetary justifications and coordinating the location of resources to implement plans and projects.RequirementsConditions of EmploymentQualificationsApplicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competenciesnecessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but willclearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by:

Utilizing telecommunications principles and procedures to order telephone and telecommunications services for new installations and to obtain disconnects.

Applying contracting and procurement regulations, practices, and procedures for base acquisition of base telecommunications services.

Gathering, summarizing, and interpreting telecommunications technical data for analysis of project trends to devise solutions for problems.

Providing support in ordering, disconnecting, billing, and inventorying of circuits and telecommunications services. EducationAdditional InformationThis position is a DoD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1599f. The Cyber Interagency Transfer Authority (CITA) permits movement of CES employees appointed under Section 1599f of Title 10 U.S.C. and excepted service employees appointed under Schedule A, Section 213.3106(b)(11) of Title 5 CFR, info cyber workforce positions in the competitive service and movement of competitive service employees into DoD Cyber Workforce positions within the Military Departments and Defense Agencies.
