Successfully read and interpret project plans, specifications and contracts. Ability to communicate in writing and verbally in an effective and professional manner. Adherence to the UICC Policies and Procedures including Shareholder employment opportunities. Maintain worker safety and an accident free work environment in strict compliance with OSHA rules. Reading plans and specifications, subcontractor contracts, shop drawings, submittals, DCVR’s, ASI’s, and project schedule without supervision Adherence to the UICC Policies and Procedures including Shareholder employment opportunities. Maintain worker safety and an accident free work environment in strict compliance with OSHA rules. Perform Quality Control functions Additional duties as assigned. Accurately record progress and concerns in a daily field report on a daily basis Accurately photograph project progress and concerns on a daily basis Requirements Knowledge and Critical Skills/Expertise: Must be familiar with specific project, owner’s representatives, location of tools and equipment. Ability to be responsible for supervision, direction and safety of work crews in all aspects of commercial construction. Must have the ability to read and interpret plans and specifications, read and correct shop drawings and utilize/maintain project schedule. Must be committed to worker safety and an accident free work environment and in strict compliance with OSHA rules. Must have OSHA 30 hour certification. OSHA Competent Person Understand and participate as an active member of a Quality Control Program Respectfully and effectively communicate with owner representatives, inspectors, architects, engineers and subcontractors. Have punctual and on time work history. Job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations. Develop and execute detailed work plans for future scheduled work Effectively and respectfully manage onsite constructionstaff within the UICC team and other subcontracted entities. Conduct weekly coordination meeting with the contracting team and the owner teams. Required Experience: Must 10 years of experience working as the superintendent on commercial construction projects Must have 5 years of experience working as a superintendent on remote commercial construction projects with a least one project completed in excess of $7M. Must be familiar with specific project, owner’s representatives, location of tools and equipment. High School Diploma/or equivalent Physical Demands: Strenuous walking, standing, and/or climbing, heavy lifting and carrying. Working on uneven walking surfaces, working on ladders and scaffolding. Performing physical activities that require considerableuse of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, moving materials, and manipulating materials. EnvironmentalConditions: Loud noises, and/or extremes of heat or cold. The work often requires wearing protective gear that may be uncomfortable. The nature of the work environment may produce moderate levels of stress. Work environment is that of a constructionsite. May be working in close proximity to moving equipment.
