Field Engineer/Estimator

Job Summary The Field Engineer/Estimator is a member of the operations team and will assist project staff and superintendents to ensure assigned craft(s) work is planned, estimated, understood and well documented.Essential Functions

Communicating and working with craft supervision, owners, vendors, subcontractors and members of the project team.

Takeoffs and planning

Scheduling material, procurement, and quantity tracking

Contract administration and cost control

Problem solving

Project scheduling

Estimating

Progress measurement

Review design plans and specifications

Budget and crew rate review

Submittal of time sheets for actual costs

3 plus years heavy highway construction field experience required

Medium to Large project experience ($10M+) is desirable

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or similar discipline is preferred

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

Work independently as well as part of a team

Strong leadership skills

Strong problem solving and analytical skills

Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft programs such as Excel and Word

Strong verbal and written communication skills
