DescriptionHillrom is a medical device company best known for hospital beds, which are manufactured in Batesville, Indiana. Manufacturing is completed with a complete team of about 800 in a flow assembly manufacturing process which includes fabrication of sheet metal and coil work, punch press, tooling, machining, welding, sub and final assembly.The Continuous Improvement Analyst is tasked with site-wide Lean training initiatives and support of Kaizen activities including but not limited to Lean Boot Camps, Problem Solving Leadership Training sessions, Value Stream Mapping, Operations Management System (OMS) deployment, Lean Tools, etc. We have a target to complete 75 to 100 Kaizen Events, 6 Problem Solving Leadership Training Session, 3 Lean Bootcamps and more annually. Our goal is to educate the workforce to drive a culture of Continuous Improvement and OMS excellence!S/he helps provide the vision necessary to ensure that the company has an Operations Management System in place to effectively achieve the company's operational needs and growth objectives. This position is responsible for leading and executing continuous improvement (CI) initiatives directed at providing strategic process, policy, procedural, and best-practice improvements within the Continuous Improvement and Hillrom Organizations.Specific responsibilities include planning, organizing, directing, leading, coaching, and training others in CI activities and principles. This role will be held accountable for meeting established business improvement goals through the development and implementation of appropriate tools, training, and project plans designed to improve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as safety, quality, service, and cost.Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager Continuous Improvement, Batesville Operations, the CI Analyst acts as a mentor, coach, motivator and teacher in the support of the advancement of lean thinking principles across the whole manufacturing facility.The role is located at our prominent manufacturing facility in Batesville, Indiana. Local candidates preferred.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: – Other duties may be assigned:⯈Help develop, implement, review, and manage the plants continuous improvement plan.⯈Support site management as a continuous improvement analyst in the development, planning, and execution of a best-practice transformation strategy. Collaborate with Continuous Improvement organization to develop strategic CI initiatives and translate them into actionable goals and objectives.⯈Provide training to all levels within the Hill-Rom organization on the use and practice of improved processes, procedures, and tools.⯈Focus on business performance which constantly strives to eliminate waste and takes advantage of industry best-practice.⯈Facilitate and drive change in a fast-paced environment by leveraging his/her strong interpersonal skills.⯈Lead complex, high-impact projects across multiple functions or departments.⯈Continual development of personal skills and knowledge to meet the ever-changing needs of the company.⯈Typical workday is 7:00 am - 3:30 pm with a need for flexibility both before/after shift to accommodate needs of training and Kaizen events.⯈Expected travel 5%.QualificationsEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:⯈Bachelor’s degree is required; Business or Engineering discipline is ideal.⯈Minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment; basic understanding of manufacturing or assembly and work cells.⯈Exposure to Continuous Improvement and TPS Methodologies; Black Belt Certification in Lean Six Sigma preferred but not required.⯈ Effective teamwork and analytical skills; using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.⯈Bringing others together and trying to reconcile differences.⯈Strong leadership skills with proven ability to facilitate cross-functional teams.⯈User of Power BI highly desirable.⯈Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
