As a full-service municipal government our purpose is simple – Together we enrich lives and build community.Our employees are dedicated to public service through Caring, Innovation, Collaboration, Leadership and Stewardship, and we are looking for a qualified candidate who shares our values to join our team in the role of Mosquito Control Driver - PT/Seasonal.The Mosquito Control Driver is a Part-Time/Seasonal position responsible for spraying the public streets and City parks of the City of Baytown for adult mosquito population control.A typical season for this Part-Time position lasts from early May through the end of September. Spraying is conducted at night in four (4) hour shifts beginning at approximately 6:30pm-7:30pm depending on the time of sunset. The position will typically work 20-24 hours per week.Duties

Controls the mosquito population through application of driving and spraying adulticides using truck mounted ULV equipment.

Assists Mosquito Control Technician with mosquito control truck maintenance, and cleaning of the garage.

Assists Mosquito Control Technician with washing operations on the emptied barrels.

Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Minimum QualificationsREQUIRED:

High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

PREFERRED:

Previous experience with safe handling of pesticides.

Knowledge of chemical flow pumps and electric control systems.

Knowledge of the Baytown area.

Certified State of Texas Pesticide Applicator license; category: Vector Control

Additional InformationMechanical aptitude; knowledge of the safe use of pesticides. Good public communication skills.
