As a software engineer, you will work internally and with other teams at Amazon to architect and develop solutions that optimize and personalize our ads experiences. You will develop the full-stack ads tech experience including service-side business logic as well as client-side rendering of audio, visual, video, and interactive music ads. The ideal candidate is interested in being part of a nimble team, passionate about experimenting to innovate for customers, and has a track record of delivering new features and products. A commitment to team work and hustle are absolute requirements. The role requires leaders with technical depth as well as familiarity with industry best practices. The person has an attention to detail to deliver solutions that delight customers. About the teamOur Free + Prime team is focused on giving customers the best ad-supported and Prime-benefit mixed media experiences that span music discovery, music videos, live streaming, podcasts, and more. We build systems that are distributed on a large scale, spanning our music apps, web player, and voice-forward audio engagement on mobile and Amazon Echo devices, powered by Alexa to support our customer base. Amazon Music offerings are available in countries around the world, and our applications support our mission of delivering music to customers in new and exciting ways that enhance their day-to-day lives. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1+ years of experience contributing to the system design or architecture (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
  • 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • Programming experience with at least one software programming language.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C#, Objective-C, Swift, or Kotlin, including object-oriented design
  • MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • A proven ability to learn and adapt to new, complex development environments
  • Firm understanding of software development principles
