Assist the Controller for the purpose of providing supporting documentation and/or information on internal processes that are required
Complete necessary Journal Entries for closing under tight timelines
Reconcile applicable accounts
Conduct operational internal control testing – scrap reconciliations, receiving logs, etc.
Process purchase requisitions & manage plant Checkbook spend
Inform & assist staff regarding procedural requirements for the purpose of facilitating accurate and timely financial reporting within the departmental deadlines
Identify and execute process improvements in the Finance department while exercising independent judgment and discretion
Participate in the AOP development process
Assist with forecasting and variance analysis
Prepare Capital Acquisitions Paperwork and monitor capital projects
Prepare and assist the controller to submit US and Canadian tax packages
Assists with costing of parts and daily reports
Analyze data for cross functional teams and assists these teams in driving results
Complete miscellaneous special projects as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:EDUCATION:
Minimum education is Bachelor’s in Accounting or Business Administration
A CPA or working towards a professional designation (CPA) is desirable
EXPERIENCE:
3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in an SAP environment – ERP exposure is mandatory.
Ability to read, interpret, and understand financial numbers and statements
Must have strong Excel, verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to interact with all employees in a respectful manner
Ability to multi-task with ease
