Job Description

The corporate accounting job opening is for the corporate accounting team which is responsible for the books and records of The Rock Creek Group and its subsidiaries. This is an accounting associate position designed for candidates with 4-6 years of experience in the accounting and financial reporting fields. Responsibilities will include maintaining the firm’s books and records, cash reconciliations, monthly closing and the related journal entries, preparation of quarterly financial packages, preparation of annual financial statements for audit, and coordination of the accounts receivable/billing process.

Additional responsibilities include working with Human Resources, payroll and tax preparers.

Responsibilities:

  1. Maintaining books and records of the legal entity trial balances/capital accounts of the management company entities
  2. Quarterly close of the general ledger and preparation of comprehensive quarterly reporting package
  3. Monthly soft close of general ledger and booking of associated journal entries
  4. Preparation of annual financial statements for audit
  5. Coordination of the accounts receivable/billing function
  6. Assist with audits
  7. Ad hoc requests and frequent interaction with executive management

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  2. Minimum 4 years relevant experience required
  3. CPA optional
  4. Ability to identify and implement change to processes to promote efficiency
  5. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  6. Self-starter with ownership mentality and ability to work autonomously
  7. Knowledge of systems such as Intacct and Concur is a plus
  8. Solid written and verbal communication skills
