In this compelling leadership position, you will lead the implementation and ongoing management of initiatives for analysis of business transactions and financial information to determine and maintain records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, and other financial activities.

THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE

The Director-Loan Accountingrole will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:

  • Manage process of recording accountingresults of Single Family (SF) loan transactions representing over $3 trillion in assets and report to the VP of Loan Accounting
  • Lead a team of approximately 15 + professional personnel that own and oversee the day-to-day accounting for over 17 million SF loans
  • Partner with peer directors on the team, key data providers and technology partners across the organization ensuring safety and soundness are protected for dependent accounting calculations and financial reporting
  • Understand and assess risk; ensure compliances with operational and SOX controls
  • Ensure adherence to corporate accounting policies while continuing to drive process improvements within the operations
  • Translate company direction for the team to determine appropriate accounting treatment
  • Convey the business analysis and explanations of financial results to ensure accuracy and support business decisions
  • Consult with senior management on strategy for gathering financial information to achieve business outcomes
  • Serve as primary point of contact for internal and external auditors and regulators; assume overall responsibility for relationship management for specific business areas
  • Present reports documenting financial results to key stakeholders
  • Communicate team and organizational objectives; inspire and motivate team members to achieve results
  • Provide training, coaching, and feedback to team members; build bench depth in the accounting team

Qualifications

THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Minimum Required Experience

  • 8 years of relevant experience

Desired Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
  • 10+ years of related experience and 5+ years in a people management role
  • CPA license strongly preferred

  • Demonstrated strong understanding of accounting principles and ability to apply those principles in environment with complex operational processes
  • Strong understanding of internal controls, risk management, and business processes
  • Demonstrated ability to present effectively at the executive level
  • Strong communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills that are adaptable based on the stakeholder
  • Abilityto lead a large team and motivate them by fostering a positive morale and an action-oriented culture
  • Experience identifying and selecting strategic options, and identifying resources to meet the defined objectives
  • Able to analyzedata to identify trends or relationships to inform conclusions about the data
  • Knowledge working with complex accounting systems, ideally in a large-scale format
  • A data acumen and experience working with large volumes of data and an ability to balance data integrity and materiality
  • Continuous improvement mindset: challenge status quo to find innovative solutions
  • Critical thinking, analytical and financial analysis skills
  • Experience and ability to motivate, manage, rally and mentor teams
  • High attention to detail, self-motivated and quick learner
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information in a strictly professional manner
