  • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, Statistics or related fields, with 2+ years of equivalent work experience
  • Experience in the Financial, Insurance, or Consumer data industries, credit data is a plus
  • Relevant experience working with big data, data management, business insights, and/or data quality
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong scenario analysis, tactical evaluation, and analytical and problem solving skills leading to practical business application and ability to work in an agile environment
  • Hands-on experience writing SQL queries and Linux command line tools; a plus if you have experience with any combination of Tableau, Ab Initio, Python and R
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate analytical and statistical concepts and results
  • Ability to recognize opportunities for improvement and drive initiatives to completion
  • Must be a self-starter with strong planning and organizational skills, motivated by challenges, and possess a customer-focused, results-oriented attitude
  • Quick learner with uncanny ability to pick up new technologies, tools, processes, and make recommendations for continuous improvement
Impact You'll Make:The Data Performance team is part of TransUnion's Data Strategy Business Unit and our key objectives are continuous improvement of the database and equipping internal areas and external customers with insights needed to gain maximum value from our core asset, credit data. TransUnion's data quality is monitored, measured, and reported on at all stages of the data's lifecycle and trends and insights are published via data quality dashboards.In addition to daily monitoring and reporting activities, the Data Performance team also provides services to other TransUnion business groups, including: data analysis, data processing solutions, data matching & linking analyses, and product consulting/engineering for new and enhanced product offerings.Some of the key functions you will focus on include:
  • Data Analysis - interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports. Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
  • Business Acceptance Testing (BAT) - conducted in relation to major data events and/or application/platform changes to ensure no material impact to data & products which could adversely impact customers and/or consumers
  • Data quality investigations and enhancements - investigating data anomalies identified from internal monitoring or direct customer inquiries and leading initiatives to address concerns and enhance quality
  • Data Insights - identify valuable data sources and analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns, and propose solutions to business challenges
  • Develop global data quality measures to report out in Dashboard to senior leadership
  • Develop product & solution prototypes that enable TransUnion to serve new markets and grow beyond our core credit products
  • Learn TransUnion's core credit data as well as other alternate data assets TransUnion has licensed and provide subject matter
