Summary:
Production operators may work in a variety of roles in processing and packaging within the plant. Operators are responsible for maintaining our highest quality of food safety standards, sanitation standards, perform daily audits, and complete daily production paperwork.
Production operators are required to be flexible to work any shift - 1st / 2nd / 3rd (8, 10 or 12 hour shifts), weekends and overtime.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate processing or packaging equipment as assigned
Perform various checks to include metal detector, date code and weight systems checks
Clean, inspect and lubricate equipment as part of our Autonomous Maintenance program
Observe safety procedures
Observe Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Observe good housekeeping practices
Complete quality checks and associated daily production paperwork
Operating a fork lift may be required for some positions
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must possess a High School diploma/GED
Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend English; including effectively communicating with co-workers, supervisors and support staff
Must be flexible to work any shift - 1st / 2nd / 3rd (8, 10 or 12 hour shifts)
Must be available to work weekends, holidays and overtime
Must be able to lift up to 35-50 lbs
Must be authorized to work in the United States
May be required to pass a Basic Skills Assessment Test, which may include math, reading comprehension, measuring\checking accuracy, and problem solving.
Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide fractions, decimals, and whole numbers
Basic computer skills
Must have a valid e-mail address
Preferred Qualifications:
Manufacturing / Food manufacturing with a minimum of 2 years experience is preferred
Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is preferred
Experience with Safe Quality Food (SQF) practices is preferred
Experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is preferred
Experience with Autonomous Maintenance (AM) is preferred
Experience with Single-Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) / quick change-over process is preferred
Experience with Continuous Improvement methodology is preferred
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Good hand-eye coordination
Ability to follow directions effectively
Ability to work independently within a team environment
Close attention to detail
Physical Demands:
Light to moderate physical effort required
Must be able to lift up to 35-50 lbs
Regularly required to work around operating equipment, stand, reach, stoop, crawl, bend, and climb ladders.
Repetitive use of hands, wrists, and forearms
Working Conditions:
Work will be performed within a manufacturing facility.
The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required to include but not limited to safety toe shoes, ear plugs, safety glasses/goggles, bump caps, hair and beard nets, and gloves.
Wearing company issued uniforms is a requirement.
