Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is hiring multiple Mid-Level Model Based Software Engineers that will be based out of Seattle, Washington.Find your future with us as an experienced Software Engineer on the growing Model Based Engineering team. The Model Based Engineering (MBE) team is responsible to deliver MBE Software design templates, training, processes, and tools. Our team delivers to programs across the Defense, Commercial, and Global Services business units. We are seeking talented software engineers to join our team to help revolutionize our software products, processes, and environments to enable Boeing to deliver complex systems that connect and protect across the globe.From sea bed to space, Boeing software engineers develop solutions that truly make a difference in the world and beyond. You will support this vision as an integral member of the MBE team providing programs within Boeing MBE solutions across the entire software lifecycle from requirements to release.You will join a team of engineers in a fast paced and dynamic environment working both independently and as part of team to support programs start-up and execution. We are looking for engineers with strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to resolve cross-functional technical issues. The individual will be a self-starter, comfortable with identifying and solving problems, able to understand the big design picture (larger than just MBE), and embrace continuous learning and development. Position responsibilities:

  • As an integral member of the team, you will be designing and implementing Software MBE solutions and tools supporting commercial aviation, spaceflight transportation, missile defense systems, bombers and fighters, or any number of other critical programs. We are looking for someone who is systematic, open-minded, adaptable, team-oriented, and well-organized.
  • You will be responsible for activities including but not limited to:
  • Create and maintain model based templates for SW design
  • Develop training for Software MBE
  • Develop SW lifecycle processes and design practices
  • Integrate MBE tools with the DevSecOps tool chain
  • Deploy SW MBE to new and existing programs
Technology areas of this position are:
  • Agile product development
  • UML and SysML tools
  • Code generation tools
This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires ship. A final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree
  • Experience with Unified Modeling Language (UML) or other software architecture and design modeling techniques
  • Experience programming skills in Java, Python, Go, Scala or C
  • Experience in software development, systems engineering, or integration and test experience with mission systems on tactical platforms
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience with Cameo Modeling tool
  • Experience in developing formal processes and training
  • Experience in tool integration and plugin development
  • Experience with MBD code generation tools such as simulink
  • Programming skills in Java, Python, Go, or C, Ruby
  • Git, Bitbucket
  • Web page development experience
  • Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform
  • Infrastructure as code with CI/CD pipelines
  • Containerization (Rancher, K8s, Kubernetes)
  • Distributed applications using microservices
Typical Education/Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Relocation:Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
