Find your future with us.The Flight Simulation | Labs organization at The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer (Level 3) to join the MQ-25 simulation software development team performing a variety of modeling, simulation, and system integration assignments located in Berkeley, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.The Flight Simulation | Labs organization provides a comprehensive simulation and laboratory solution for the design, development, integration and deployment of Boeing defense products.This position will focus on extending the MQ-25 baseline simulation environment into a product to support Advanced MQ-25. Candidates will be responsible for a variety of tasks including requirements gathering, model development, testing, integration test support, and customer demonstrations. This is an exciting position that provides the successful candidate a very important role in shaping and demonstrating the Advanced MQ-25 for the future.Position Responsibilities:
- Leads activities to develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
- Leads development of code and integration of complex software components into a fully functional software system
- Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
- Provides technical leadership for software projects and leads software supplier management activities
- Leads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics
- Plans, executes and documents software research and development projects
- Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations
- Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards
- Works under minimal direction
- Requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance
- Ability to obtain clearances for Special Access Programs
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical degree
- 3+ years' experience in C/C#
- 3+ years' experience in Object Oriented Design and Programming
- 3+ years' experience in modeling and simulation
- Agile development experience
- Experience in hardware and software integration
- Experience with DevOps tools such as GitLab, Jira, Jenkins
- Experience working in multiple operating systems
- Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience)
- In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
