Assistant Produce Production Manager. We're looking for a quality-minded food lover to ensure the integrity of our prepared produce operation and focus on outstanding execution of department operations. Working with the Produce Production Manager, you will help create an exceptional customer experience and support a successful, sustainable department by taking ownership and making decisions that will have a genuine impact on store success and customer satisfaction.

 Your responsibilities include:
  • Providing direction and support for all team members, inspiring them to excel
  • Assisting with management of aspects affecting gross margin and profitability of the prepared food section within the Produce Department
  • Partnering with the Produce Production Manager and Produce Manager for product usage and shared labor
  • Ordering, displaying and maintaining inventory for items sold in the department
  • Assisting customers in person and over the phone and processing special orders using the Dierbergs Party Guide

What you need to succeed
  • Restaurant or food industry experience (food prep, produce, sous chef, etc.)
  • Business acumen and excellent time management skills
  • A thorough understanding of, and commitment to, food safety
  • Ability to work in varied temperature-controlled environments
  • Ability to keep the work area safe and clean using company-approved equipment

Physical Requirements
  • Lifting & Carrying - Up to 35 lbs. occasionally
  • Pushing & Pulling- Up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally
  • Occasional - Sit, kneel, climb, overhead reach & power grip
  • Frequent - Stand, walk, head turn, side reach, grasp, pinch, finger manipulation & feel
  • Constant - Handling & forward reach
