The role of: Area Sales Manager
Reports to: Senior Manager of Employee Managers and Area Sales Manager
General Purpose:
The Area Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales and managing total operations in a retail store environment and territory. Our Managers create an engaging and fun experience for our customers and a challenging and rewarding opportunity for our associates. Successful managers are interactive, KPI driven, high energy, and consumer focused.
Essential Functions:
Must be able to communicate effectively
Drive sales performance/ Execute Five Steps to a Sale
Clearly communicate sales and KPI goals and report results daily
Recruit, interview, and hire team members with customer service experience
Facilitate teamwork, active engagement and regulate team meeting
Must be skilled in leadership, coaching and training, sales generation, strategic planning,
customer service, communication, conflict resolution, business acumen, time-management
Must have experience and be proficient in general retail software
Assist and communicate to Managers in seasonal locations the policies and processes
Assist with the building and break down of kiosk and in line location
Serve as a resource for Employee Managers and have accountability with their success
If any deficiencies are found, work closely with management and staff to clearly outline
the problem areas and assist them in developing a plan of action to correct problem in a timely manner
Be absolutely accountable for cash handling and deposits
Assist Loss Prevention with shrinkage/ cash losses that may occur in stores
Hold team accountable for results
Protect inventory by maintaining appropriate receiving, markdown, and POS processes
Must be available to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, which may include closing, weekend shifts and holidays
Manage staffing plan and control payroll for assigned stores
Must be able to stand for several hours a day , lift up to lift 50 lbs., perform frequent walking , repetitive hand and wrist motion as well as bending
Travel and overnight stay up to 60% of the time especially during the fourth quarter will be required
Required Experience/Education/Certification
Prior experience as a store manager or assistant with a sales focus
3 years of more retail experience/ management experience
A four year degree is desired for this position/relevant experience will certainly be considered
Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Preferred Experience/Education/Certification
Retail Management experience
Proven ability to drives sales
Create a customer focus environment
