We are an internal marketing agency in need of a social media and community manager who can connect with our customer base through multiple channels. This person will lead and launch social campaigns that impact specific customer groups for different projects and will work closely with the marketing director, as well as the branding and design teams. The social media and community manager will own content creation for our social handles. Supported by the marketing director, this person will drive long-term strategy, pre-planned campaigns, and day-to-day editorial decisions. This person will craft thoughtful strategies to best serve unique audiences and contribute to the development of new product features and tools for social marketing.
A successful candidate should be organized and comfortable using editorial calendars to manage the publication of content, ads, and collecting analytical data. This person should also demonstrate excellent customer instincts, strong project management skills, an aptitude for developing insights-driven global strategies, the ability to craft marketing copy with specific brand voices, and a keen eye for compelling and innovative content. In addition, we very much appreciate a passion for continuous improvement!
This person will need to possess an entrepreneurial ability to try new and different things proactively. This role will work on two projects simultaneously to start, on a part-time basis at 15 hours per week. We are looking to launch a brand within the next 30-60 days which will occasionally require irregular work hours and quick turnarounds, so flexibility is critical for success in this position.
Role Responsibilities:
Develop content ideas, and short and long-term objectives (work with the marketing director)
Come up with original content (photos, videos, articles) and publishing plan
Develop an editorial calendar to present to the rest of the team (with the marketing director)
Collaborate with the design team to create content
Create the audiences for ads on Facebook Ads and Google AdWords.
Post content on social media (organic and paid) according to the content calendar.
Propose and implement concrete social media strategies
Monitor our brand’s reputation and ad performance and modify the content if/as needed
Create monthly project reports that track the progress of the content, ads, and ad spend
Identify community trends to create, develop and follow online strategies
Role Requirements:
Degree in advertising, marketing, or communications, or equivalent work experience
3+ years of social media management and experience with Facebook/Instagram ads and paid ads
Proven experience identifying meaningful, actionable insights from past social campaigns
Demonstrable results from Google and paid social campaigns
Advanced keyword research skills
Experience with the following is essential: Google Analytics, Google AdWords, Google Tag Manager, Facebook/Instagram Ads Manager, Facebook Insights Manager
Excellent marketing copywriting skills, with the ability to capture a brand’s voice
Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and video format
Handle multiple, detail-oriented tasks with tight deadlines, while maintaining professionalism
Encouraged but not required:
Experience in brand launches and startups
Experience with A/B split testing
Knowledge of copywriting etiquette and brand voicing/messaging
Working knowledge of lifestyle brand trends and fundamentals
Outstanding attention to detail and aesthetic awareness
Experience supporting an influencer, high-profile brand or personality-based brand
Be a self-starter and willing to take the initiative to do online research to innovate on existing strategies and benchmark competition/industry standards
This job will be a contract to hire pending approval with the specific terms being: 60 hours per month for three months at a minimum. All remote.
