GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative is seeking a security guard who can observe and evaluate security risks in a calm and professional manner. A successful candidate will enjoy working with the general public and is dedicated to the safety and welfare of others. Primary job responsibilities include assisting customers as required, providing a safe and desirable experience for all customers, the inspection of physical security of the redemption center and responding to and reporting of emergency situations. The Security Guard works under supervision of the Loss Prevention Department with additional reporting to the location supervisors and Redemption Center Operations Director.

ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS

Acts as a visible deterrent by conducting regular patrol of assigned redemption center property, including but not limited to the parking lot, the perimeter of the redemption center, and within the redemption center.

Prevents loss and damage by detecting and reporting irregularities, including but not limited to out of policy events, breaches in physical security, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations.

Informs and warns violators of rule infractions, such as loitering and out of policy redemptions.

Prepares and communicates timely and detailed reports of incidents

Additional tasks as directed by the loss prevention department.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be able to work a flexible, full-time schedule

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen - We do NOT screen for marijuana

Must be 18 years of age or older

Must qualify for a Department of Public Safety Standards and Training Unarmed Security Professional certification

Must not pose a direct safety threat to himself/herself or others

PAY & BENEFITS

Pay: $15.25/hour to start

$250 One-time bonus after 90 days of employment
