Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is currently seeking an F-22 Lead Real Time Software Engineer to join the F-22 Missions Systems team located in Berkeley, MO or Richardson, TX. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.This organization designs, develops, and demonstrates avionics solutions for the F-22 Raptor, the premier 5th gen air superiority fighter flown only by the United States Air Force (USAF). Your role will require you to work as a member of a cross-functional agile team to integrate cutting-edge technologies to maintain the Raptor's dominance over the battlefield for many decades to come.Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads activities to develop, document and maintain complex architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
  • Leads development of code and integration of complex software components into a fully functional software system
  • Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
  • Provides technical leadership for software projects and leads software supplier management activities
  • Leads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics
  • Leads software research and development projects
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations
  • Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards
  • Execute, and provide triage information for each release of the MSW products
  • Support the CI/CD testing efforts
  • Mentor and coach others
  • Works under consultative direction
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements: This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. The ability to obtain Secret Clearance (Interim Pre-Start with full Post-Start) with the ability to obtain program clearance.Please include any active security clearance information on your resume.Required Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret Clearance (Pre-Start)
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical degree
  • 5 years or more Experience programming in C, Ada, C, C#, Java or Python
  • Strong coordination and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a multi-tasking environment while supporting multiple concurrent activities
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with stakeholders of different backgrounds and skill levels
  • Experience with developing embedded software for operational flight programs (OFPs)
  • Ability to obtain special program access
  • Strong Leadership & Technical skills
  • Willingness to mentor subordinate employees
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience programming in C or Ada
  • Experience developing software for a United States Air Force customer
  • Experience working with Real-time Operating Systems (RTOS)
  • Experience with Agile software development
Typical Education/Experience:
  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master+7 years' related work experience)
  • In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
Travel:This position has occasional travel to some partner and supplier sites around the United States but would be less than 10%.Relocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.
