Dart ContainerDart's Waxahachie, Texas plant is looking for an HR Generalist to join our team! In this role, you will provide coaching and counsel to our business leaders in a variety of employee relations areas (such as performance management, policy interpretation and career development). Our ideal HR Generalist will have a caring attitude, a passion for helping others and will be a team-player who is excited to partner strategically with plant leadership to achieve our goals in better serving our employees and customers.Day-to-Day Role:
Consult with management at all levels, providing HR guidance as it relates to a wide range of employee relations challenges (performance or behavioral issues, attendance, policy violations), staffing, performance management, etc.
Conduct investigations, make recommendations and facilitate resolution which may include coaching, discipline or termination
Assist with the development, implementation and administration of programs aligned with the strategic goals of the company
Interpret and positively communicate Corporate policies and procedures to employees and management
Work with management to improve working relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retain employees
Work on assigned projects independently or as a team member on cross functional HR projects or initiatives
Perform exit interviews with departing employees; provide feedback to management on potential improvements discovered through the exit interview process
Collaborate with other areas of HR as needed to resolve issues
Submit timely and accurate HR transactional information, including but not limited to transfers, promotions, separations and organizational management changes according to established procedures
Identify opportunities to increase efficiency and effectiveness within HR programs or processes
Maintain current knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees (e.g. FLSA, ADA, FMLA)
Protects the interests of employees and the company in accordance with company Human Resources policies and governmental laws and regulations
Assist hiring managers by reviewing, updating or developing position descriptions prior to posting
Facilitate employee or supervisor training or team building exercises as necessary
Core Skills and Qualifications:The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:
Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development or related field of study
Three (3) years of experience as an HR Generalist (or similar position)
Three (3) years of employee relations experience, including coaching, counseling, conducting workplace investigations and terminations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with individuals, groups, or work teams, as well as, an ability to interact with all levels of management
Ability to maintain confidentiality in all HR matters
Customer-focused attitude, with high level of initiative, professionalism and discretion
Must be approachable, flexible and available to interact with employees at all levels
Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create professional reports, documents, presentations and spreadsheets in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
General knowledge of employment laws and practices
Ability to travel to other Dart locations and/or to attend HR related conferences as necessary
Willingness to work outside of regular hours, when needed in order to support employees on various shifts
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
Experience as a Recruiter
Experience with training and development
Experience developing & implementing training programs
