Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Real Time Senior Software Engineer - Flight Simulation Labs (Level 4) to join the Flight Simulation organization's F/A -18 Trainers team located in Berkeley, MO. This position will develop simulation and laboratory products for multiple projects in our Flight Simulation Laboratory which provides a comprehensive simulation and laboratory solution for the design, development, and deployment of Boeing St. Louis defense products.This engineer will be capable of contributing to all phases of the software development lifecycle (requirements, architecture, implementation, and verification). This individual will lead development of F/A-18 avionics sensor models to be deployed in the US Navy and Royal Australia Air Force Tactical Operational Flight Trainer (TOFT). These are high-fidelity simulators deployed to USN and RAAF air bases to support training of F/A-18E/F and E/A-18G aircrew.Position Responsibilities:
- Leads activities to develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
- Leads development of code and integration of complex software components into a fully functional software system
- Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
- Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and procedures
- Works under minimal direction
- Ability to obtain Interim Secret US Security clearance (Pre-Start)
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (Software, Electrical, Computing, Systems Engineering, Computer Science or similar)
- Advanced C experience
- Advanced knowledge of real time software development
- Basic knowledge of avionics architectures and integration
- Familiarity with aircraft sensors or models
- Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience)
- In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
