TECHNICAL PROPOSAL MANAGER

Job id : 42783Job DesignationThe Technical Proposal Manager will be responsible for leading cross functional teams to develop and submit proposals in response to internal sales requests and Government Requests for Proposals (RFPs). Will help grow the Product Group's industry-leading simulation and training business worldwide.Meggitt Training Systems is a global leader in Live Fire and Virtual training equipment. Our Product Group currently has 400 employees in 6 countriesUS, UK, Australia, Canada, Singapore, and Hollandperforming sales and service activities with a majority of the employees located in Suwanee, GA. Most of the production and engineering is performed in Suwanee. Job Core Responsibilities Apply project management skills to lead multi-functional proposal teams for preparation of professional looking compliant proposals/quotes within customer-defined timeframes Translate concepts into effective proposal documents that effectively address how and why Training Systems' proposed solutions are the best fit for the customers' needs Help refine proposal win strategy and themes to ensure good alignment with customer's requirements and proposal evaluation criteria Plan proposal efforts and communicate proposal strategies and business objectives to the proposal team Manage cross functional proposal teams and subcontractors for preparation of system concepts, cost estimates, pricing, and proposal write-ups consistent with associated win strategy and themes Plan and coordinate proposal reviews of proposal write-ups and pricing Perform hands-on preparation of custom proposals and catalog quotations Work with various departments to maintain our library of write-ups Ability to work efficiently under conditions of multiple deadlines and changing priorities to produce high quality proposals/quotes with attention to detailJob SpecificationsEducation: Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related technical field requiredCertifications: Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP), PMP and/or Shipley certifications desirableYears' Experience: 7+ years of relevant experienceSkills: Engineering experience - high tech developmental projects (simulation and training field desirable) Project management skills and experience to work with diverse cross functional teams Proposal-related experience - member of proposal teams providing cost and writing inputs Proposal-related management experience - working knowledge of industry standard proposal management practices, e.g. APMP/Shipley, is preferred Experience working on Government contracts Advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Excel (other applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator; Microsoft Visio, Project are a plus) Good communication skills (written and verbal) This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
