Communicable Disease Investigator (Nashville)

Our client, a non profit in Nashville, TN specializing in social services, is seeking Communicable Disease Investigators to investigate possible sources of COVID-19 infections.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$25/hr

Position Overview:

The Communicable Disease Investigator will locate people who have been reported to have COVID-19 or who have been in contact with infected individuals. The Communicable Disease Investigator will direct these individuals to submit necessary laboratory specimens and such other necessary control measures. This position will start remotely, but will eventually transition to a local health facility. This position is anticipated to start on 6/1/2020 and will be approximately 6 months.

Responsibilities of the Communicable Disease Investigator:

Interview people who are COVID-19 positive and assist them in informing their close contacts of their positive status

Provide information and education on COVID-19 to phone inquiries

Educate and counsel patients regarding transmitted diseases to risk reduction

Induce people who have been in contact with COVID-19 to have medical examinations and laboratory testing as applicable

Maintain record on all delinquent and/or non-conforming patients

Qualifications of the Communicable Disease Investigator:

Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to show empathy to distressed individuals

Ability to show a professional and positive attitude

Exceptional work ethic and organizational skills

Tech savvy

Experience or education in healthcare industry

Education Requirements of the Communicable Disease Investigator

Current student or graduate from a college of public health, medical science, college of nursing, or school of medicine

Degree preferred
