This is a temporary based position.Under general supervision procures engineered equipment and material in accordance with buyers and contracts plan and/or handles all facets of traffic activity to project and/or executes the expediting function in accordance with established procurement policies and procedures. The specific work assignment may include duties or activities that assist and support management in one or more of the following functional areas, in addition to other duties as assignment.Buyer I Responsibilities:Assist in development of buyers and contracts activities in accordance with established project and/or buyers and contracts policies and proceduresPerforms buying, subcontracting, expediting and/or the activities in accordance with established project and/or buyers and contracts policies and proceduresEvaluates, selects, and routes material shipment in accordance with proceduresMay be a resource to less experienced team membersPerforms research and compiles information/data on vendors, materials, and suppliesProcesses RFPs, RFQs, contracts, purchase orders, and delivery orders actionsAssigned less complex contract and procurement actions for executionProvides assigned technical, administrative, or functional support to the management teamPerforms duties of general/routine complexity in natureOther job related duties as assignedMaintains knowledge of and demonstrates ability to perform work safely in accordance with allapproved safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations and performs assigned duties in a safe mannerActively participates in Safety Work GroupsBuyer II Responsibilities in addition to above:Performs buying, subcontracting, expediting and/or the.activities in accordance with established project and/or buyers and contracts policies and procedures. Evaluates, selects and routes material shipment in accordance with proceduresResearches and writes more complex specificationsContributes to the assignments of lower level team membersSenior Buyer Responsibilities in addition to above:Researches and writes more complex specificationsContributes to the assignments of lower level team membersQUALIFICATIONSBA/BS degree in a related field and 3-10 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Typical experience ranges from 3 - 6 yearsMust be a US Citizen able to obtain and/or maintain a DOE L or Q clearanceStrong interpersonal/communication skillsStrong PC skills including Microsoft applicationsDetail-orientedWorking knowledge of policy and regulatory requirements for contracting/procurementWork in an office at a normal environmental restoration atmosphere (outdated and/or abandoned facilities or industrial field environments). May also work at off-project sites representing the organization at various types of locations throughout the community for business purposes.
