Headquartered in Wendell, NC (20 miles East of downtown Raleigh, NC), the Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit has a diverse portfolio of products including but not limited to electric-vehicle chargers, low voltage motor control centers, compact modular reclosers, distribution switches, medium voltage switchgear, medium voltage circuit breakers, power monitoring, power quality, and protective relays.The EA Business Unit of Siemens is looking for highly qualified and energetic Engineers for its medium voltage (4.16-38 kV) Air or Gas Insulated Switchgear team.Qualified candidates will have options to work remote.Essential Job Functions:Analyze customer’s technical specifications, one linediagram and schematic diagram regarding the application of Siemens MVswitchgear products along with associated protection and control systemsand design appropriate product solutions to meet the customers’expectations in cost-effective and timely manner

Work independently and/or lead a project team to createall documents for customer approval and manufacturing of Medium Voltageswitchgears.

Utilize the engineering configurator software toprepare, one-line drawings, control schematics and bill of material with ahigh degree of accuracy.

Be a technical project leader taking full ownership ofthe overall deliverables while guiding a team of jr. engineers, designersand drafters.

Provide factory support during the manufacture of yourprojects to ensure that the final deliverable is true to your design.Also, in the process to provide technical support to customers.

Job Requirements:Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering

3+ years of proven experience working with thedesign/configuration electrical power distribution products and systems.Preference given to experience with switchgear.

Strong working knowledge of standard protection andcontrol technologies used in medium voltage power distribution productswith proven ability to share this knowledge with others.

Ability to analyze customer’s technical specificationsregarding the application of protection and control systems and applyappropriate product solutions to meet the customers’ expectations incost-effective and timely manner.

Ability to read, understand one-line and evaluateelectrical schematics to identify errors or potential improvements.

Ability to multitask and manage large workloads andbusiness demands.

An ideal candidate is detailed orientated, processdriven and able to embrace a culture of quality.

Considered a plus butnot required:A Masters Degree in Engineering is a plus with extraconsideration given if degree concentration is in the area of powersystems.

Proven ability to create, convert & modify drawingswith AutoCAD Electrical or Engineering Base software.

Familiarity with ANSI, IEEE, UL and NEMA standards forMV Switchgear.

Experience with electrical design for medium voltageswitchgear, preference given to experience with Siemens switchgear.
