Overview:
Independently, or under the direction of a Radiologist, performs MRI procedures and patient care requiring independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative for obtaining a diagnosis. Has responsibility for routine MRI imaging and other procedures requiring sound understanding of anatomical positioning and physiology; with independent selection and modification of technical factors to produce optimum MRI scans, while keeping patient welfare, confidentiality, and comfort a top priority. Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic Technology training in an AMA approved school and meets the requirements for registry by ARRT.
Licensure: Registered with the ARRT in Radiography and MR.
Experience: 1 year
Certifications: Must have American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card or complete a course within probation period.
Other: Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Technical skill in medical scanning, understanding of cross sectional anatomy, and 3-D knowledge. Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Requirements: Manipulating equipment, lifting, moving, and transporting patients. Continual standing or walking. Adapt to stressful situations.
Equipment Used: Should be proficient in the use of MR Scanners, Power Injectors, workstations and Computers.
