Production Operations Manager - Quality.Kelly is seeking a talented Production Operations Manager - Quality. This is a 16-week contract role. The ideal candidate will have experience in implementing advanced quality planning processes as well as demonstrated expertise in investigating complex quality problems and applying sound technical judgment to develop possible solutions. Pay: Up to $50.00 an hour DOE and Education

Job DescriptionWork involves functioning as the quality support for the manufacturing facility, and as a technical liaison between engineering, manufacturing and suppliers to resolve quality issues. In addition, the work includes monitoring current production quality metrics, field warranty metrics and providing technical support to ensure products conform to quality standards. One must apply diversified knowledge of quality engineering principles and practices to produce and/or coordinate the solutions to complex problems. Considerable creativity and initiative are required. Independent judgment is required with some direction from the supervisor.Key Responsibilities include:

Supports manufacturing by resolving manufacturing and supplier issues

Reviews and communicate design and manufacturing changes

Participates in internal and supplier audits

Ensures products conform to internal and external quality requirements

Handle all supplier containment activities and problem solving

Assure supplier understanding of product and submission requirements to the plant

Lead Fast Response reviews related to required quality metrics for the plant

Provide technical support

Function as liaison between engineering, manufacturing and suppliers to resolve quality issues and to provide technical support

Determine cause of supplier quality problems (w/ SQE assistance) and coordinate/implement effective and timely corrective actions

Maintain required documentation and files

Maintain tool calibrations for the plant, and issue purchase requisitions

Handle all supplier/internal scrap and problem reporting to suppliers

Audit plant floor quality

Key qualifications and experience include:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or quality discipline preferred or must have extensive technical experience/training in manufacturing, quality, or engineering. Desirable course work would include probability and/or statistics

1-5 years’ Experience in manufacturing, quality, or engineering (in a highly regulated industry)

Experience in implementing advanced quality planning processes preferred

Knowledge of quality assurance systems, requirements, procedures, Red-X, etc.

Experience working in medical device industry is a plus

Experience working with and/or auditing domestic and international suppliers is a plus

Excellent written and oral communication and documentation skills

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Hands on experience in manufacturing and knowledge to build quality parts

Highly proficient in print reading and interpretation of part measurement

Demonstrated thorough knowledge of probability, statistical quality control and design of experiments

Demonstrated thorough knowledge of manufacturing and assembly plant processes, procedures, facilities and equipment

Demonstrated thorough knowledge of corporate and division quality standards, policies, and procedures

Demonstrated expertise in investigating complex quality problems and applying sound technical judgment to develop possible solutions

Very high level of analytical ability to assess and identify appropriate alternative courses of action for definition and resolution where problems are complex

Ability to prioritize work with only limited direction from supervisor

Strengths should include collaboration, building relationships, and interpersonal skills to effectively lead and motivate others in group situations

Strong computer/technical aptitude

Shifts:

1st - 6:30AM-3:00PM

2nd - 2:30PM-11:00PM

3rd - 10:30PM-7:00AM
