Become Part of Our TeamSummaryAt Balfour Beatty Infrastructure in Houston, TX we are seeking Laborers for the Northeast Water Purification Plant Expansion (NEWPP) project. Laborers may perform a variety of functions such as: Measuring distances, signals operators of construction equipment, mixing grouts and patching materials using portable mixer or by hand. Performs a variety of tasks involving dexterous, use of hands and tools such as chipping hammers, concrete vibrators, grinders, shovels, rakes, scrappers, sledge hammers and compaction equipment.Essential Functions

Strike off and help finish freshly poured concrete using float, trowel or screed.

Help in positioning, joining, alignment of pipe sections.

Help erect scaffolding, shoring and braces.

Help other crafts in the forming of structures, stripping lumber, dismantling forms and removing imperfections from concrete surfaces

Application of water, form oils, curing compounds, retarders, and other products used in concrete construction.

Perform site clean up and area clean up daily.

Minimum Requirements

Ability to communicate in English via verbal and written communications.

Experience with concrete vibrating equipment.

Move throughout a construction jobsite which includes minor obstacles including climbing ladders and inclines, operating heavy equipment, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Heavy physical activity performing strenuous day activities of a primarily productive/technical nature.

Sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers and perceives attributes of objects and materials.

Work outdoors with exposure to changing weather conditions such as rain, sun, snow, wind. etc.

Preferred Requirements

High-school Diploma or GED is preferred.

2 years of construction experience.

Experience operating basic construction equipment.

Follow all required safety rules, polices and guidelines.

Flexible schedule to work days/nights and weekends as needed.
