This provides the USSI Electrical Engineer the opportunity to gain significant experience throughout the range of the electrical engineering discipline. The potential range of opportunity includes: sensors/transducers, small signal conditioning and acquisition, power amplification and power supplies, digital signal processing simulation and analysis, embedded microprocessor/microcontroller design, high speed communication through a variety of transmission mediums, custom digital and programmable logic (to include FPGA and CPLD devices), software defined radio architectures and infrastructure, and RF circuity and modulation techniques.less thanbr> USSI is seeking an ambitious, self-motivated, career-oriented individual looking for fast-paced challenges and an opportunistic working environment. This position seeks an ambitious individual with interests in Electrical Engineering Project, can participate in proposal/bid activities, has sincere interests in mentoring junior engineers, and has experience in product development cycles exercising structured process development rigor and can drive a team to perform to articulately scheduled tasking. This individual will also be hands on , involved with design and development of product(s), and also participate in architectural conceptualizations, be involved in customer collaborations. Further, this individual will participate in design and development efforts, creation of schematics, and guiding PCB design and layout activities for digital and analog circuits, microprocessor and microcontroller systems, plus testing, verifications, and integration. This individual will be expected to work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure compliance to customer requirements, to design for high volume manufacture of robust products, plus support off-site customer product acceptance testing activities.less thanbr> REQUIRED SKILLS:less thanbr> 4 year professional degree in Electrical Engineering discipline plus 4+ years of experience, or 2 year Technical Degree with 20+ years of experience in relevant field.less thanbr> Ability to obtain a US Government security clearance. Security clearances are granted to U.S. citizens.less thanbr> DESIRED SKILLS:less thanbr> Analog design/development; low level signal conditioning, high power electronics (Power Supplies, Power Amplifiers, etc.).less thanbr> Familiar with structured Product Development Processes.less thanbr> Team Leadership and Mentoring experience.less thanbr> Must be willing to travel (10% of the time) to various USSI and government test sites and supplier locations.less thanbr> Must be willing to work occasional overtime.less thanbr> Strong skills in Electrical Engineering Design Analysis and Design for Manufacturing.less thanbr> Team oriented with successful communication and negotiation skills in order to manage conflicting and/or multiple demands, including ability to present to various levels within an organization.less thanbr> Strong analytical skills especially when driving to root cause, or when determining best approach for circuit design.less thanbr> Experience with schematic capture and circuit board layout practices, tools, and techniques.less thanbr> Digital Electronics Design/Development, to include programmable devices like FPGAs/CPLDs.less thanbr> Programming skills in Matlab (plus digital signal processing modeling), Java, and C languages.less thanbr> Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS office tools.
