We are doing it again with the first live, internet-delivered TV service - Sling TV - that bucks traditional pay-TV norms and gives consumers a truly new way to access and watch television.The OTT organization is responsible for the design, implementation, and management, of DISH's internet-delivered applications and services. This includes VOD, CE applications, customer experience processes, and IoT functions. OTT uses tools such as Linux, SaltStack, Docker, and various storage platforms to meet the needs of its customers.The Manager for the OTT Organization is responsible for working on their own projects, managing their individual contributors, team building and mentoring. This position will focus on DevOps and SRE training and mentoring for their team.
  • Manage a team of four to five Systems Engineers
  • Help promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale, with a focus on CPAW and "The DISH Way".
  • Work with senior management to plan and achieve short- and long-term goals.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects with superb accuracy
  • Perform fault management and problem resolution in a highly complex, mission critical Data Center/Uplink environment
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure problem resolution and minimize time to restore.
  • Systems change management: support modifications, maintenance to complex data center systems
  • Ensure that data center documentation is kept up-to-date.
The successful Manager will have:
  • Bachelor's Degree and 5 or more years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 or more years managing or supervising a technical team
  • 4 or more years with a Linux distribution such as Ubuntu, Debian or CentOS
  • 3 or more years with technology such as KVM, VMWare, Kubernets or Docker
  • 1 or more years with block, file or object storage experience
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with customers and coworkers.
  • Must be able to participate in on-call
