Virgin Islands Coffee Roasters operates a roasting facility and retail space on St. Thomas. This position is for a Production Assistant on St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands.

Production Assistant:

The Production Assistant position will involve packing coffee, filling coffee orders, deliveries and preventative maintenance service support. Although primarily warehouse production this position will also assist with other aspects of the business as needed.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

Packing regular weekly orders consistently

Keeping accurate and legible logs

Assisting with green coffee delivery, unloading shipments and organizing and maintaining a clean roastery environment.

Overseeing the routine cleaning and maintenance of in house equipment such as brewers, espresso equipment and keg systems

Serving as a general go-between among roasting, ordering and other departments

Weekly delivers and stocking of customers shelves

Maintaining clean production areas and workspaces on a daily and weekly basis

Assist with new account installations, weekly preventative maintenance and water filter changes on site at customers locations

Engaging with all guests of the space and leading by example

Must be able to lift up to 50lbs of green coffee and carry boxes up to 50lbs

Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record

Experience sought:

Demonstrated passion and enthusiasm for coffee

Strong mathematical and time management skills

Ability to work extra hours as season demands

Self-motivated and self-starting, with an ability to multitask and work under minimal supervision

Flexibility to manage and prioritize daily and weekly tasks with extreme concentration and focus on hands-on tasks

Ability to listen, learn and follow through

Problem-solving skills

Technical aptitude and willingness to learn equipment details
