The City of Americus is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of
Crew Leader. The starting salary for this position is 31,118.00 annually (14.96 hourly). Responsibilities of this position The purpose of this classification is to lead and engage in manual labor and equipment operation work for street, water and/or sewer maintenance and construction projects for the City of Americus. Work involves providing on-site direction and assistance to an assigned crew of laborers and equipment operators. Serves as the leader of an assigned crew: provides direction, assistance and guidance to crewmembers; demonstrates proper techniques; and ensures all safety practices are followed on the job site; prioritizes and assigns daily work tasks; and ensures the crew has the proper tools, equipment and materials to complete daily assignments.Qualifications
Requirements include High school diploma or GED; supplemented by one year of experience performing street or water/sewer maintenance work to include operating construction equipment and using hand and power tools; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.Additional Information
