Gage Tree Service is the number 1 tree service company in Alaska and is currently seeking a Tree Climber to enhance our team. Start date will be April 1, 2020.

Qualifications:

TCIA Tree Climber Specialist completed or in progress

Knowledge of accident prevention and electrical hazards

Certified first aid and CPR preferred

Alaska drivers license with clean DMV record

Responsibilities:

Daily inspection of all personal climbing and safety equipment, including ropes, saddle, and PPE

Perform pruning and tree removal in accordance with industry standards (ANSI, A300 & Z133.1)

Use and maintain a variety of equipment including aerial lift truck, dump truck, chipper, chainsaws, and

various hand tools

Demonstrate and practice proper rigging techniques

Perform other related duties as assigned

Communicate with clients in a professional manner

Skills and Abilities:

Must be timely and consistent

Ability to perform strenuous manual work in all weather conditions

Attention to detail is critical to maintaining high quality of care

Knowledge and execution of proper pruning per ISA standard

Possess tree and plant identification skills

Demonstrate climbing ability

Demonstrate proper use of approved knots

Willing and able to participate in training programs and certification processes

Hours: Full time, overtime is customary, but not guaranteed
