Each year, our Foundation, employees and financial representatives donate time, talent and financial support to causes they're passionate about.What's the role?As a Marketing Front-End Developer help to ensure our corporate website, northwesternmutual.com, and our microsites are up to date with comprehensive product/service information that is easily available to existing and potential customers. You will join an established product and engineering team to deploy new pages, maintain existing pages and provide overall website support/feature development. Work to maintain a cohesive design for our websites and to support digital marketing strategies. Candidates will need a thorough knowledge of website design practices and should keep up with trends in marketing, including the latest front-end frameworks.Job Description

  • Ensure that the organization's corporate website and microsites are up-to-date and comprehensive product/service information that is easily available to existing and potential customers
  • Make updates to the website via HTML, CSS, JS code using pre-developed set of components
  • Work closely with the product and engineering teams to develop and maintain key landing pages on northwesternmutual.com
  • Update legal and regulatory documents and .pdf through internal content management systems
  • Maintain relationships and run reports using third-party quality assurance digital tools
  • Handle minor front-end development / some coordination via agile team, content integration, formatting design and release of content from writers, designers and internal partners
  • Analyze the use of website content and design; takes steps as necessary and affordable to improve information content architecture, technical search engine optimization and visual design
  • Run our domains 301/302 redirects for our main websites
  • Rebuild, maintain and manage all aspects of the company's public-facing content microsites
Bring Your Best! What this role needs:
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in business, marketing, communications, web development or design
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience creating and designing websites
  • Solid grasp of web technology and well versed in web usability standard methodologies
  • Ability to code HTML/CSS/JavaScript and code for cross-browser / cross-device challenges
  • Skilled with Adobe Photoshop and/or Sketch and applying design specifications to functional code
  • Good communication and willingness to both complete, code and deploy enhancements to digital properties and teach non-technical users how to work in a web content management system
  • Strong organization skills with focus on setting priorities and delivering quality results under tight constraints
  • Demonstrable ability to drive projects through to completion while showing initiative and good decision-making
