Find your future with us.Boeing Global Services (BGS) is in need of an energetic, talented, and highly motivated experienced mechanical and structural design engineer to join The Fighter and Strike Aircraft Sustainment SEIT team in St. Louis, MO. This dynamic team is made up of project, integration, avionics, and systems engineers responsible for the sustainment of domestic, foreign military sale (FMS), and direct commercial sale (DCS) F-15s. They also support production and modernization efforts in Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) and ensure successful transition of those efforts to BGS for post-production sustainment once fielded.The worldwide F-15 Eagle fleet consists of over 900 aircraft active in the militaries of multiple countries and is experiencing historic growth, including the recently awarded F-15EX contract to deliver 144 advanced F-15 jets to the USAF with the possibility of additional domestic and foreign sales. Also included is 15 years of performance support for the F-15EX as it refreshes the current USAF F-15C/D fleet, which is nearing retirement.This challenging position is critical to the sustainment of the Singapore F-15SG fleet and provides the unique opportunity to interface with and learn virtually every area of the F-15 Eagle including structures, subsystems, crew station, hydraulics, fatigue, production, avionics, tech pubs, retrofit, training systems, and many more. Post-production sustainment drives the long-term affordability and availability of the jet, ensuring it remains viable and effective for decades to come.Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead in-service engineering support of fielded F-15SG fighter aircraft, including disposition of non-conformances, determining alternate parts, repair concepts, and support of obsolescence/diminishing manufacturing sources.
  • Support aircraft sustainment for the F-15SG models by providing technical support for structures- and system-related Aircraft on Ground (AOG) issues.
  • Research, author, coordinate, and release Eagle Advisory Memos (EAMs).
  • Change document and Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) development in support of fleet issue corrections, repairs, and product improvement redesigns.
  • Coordinate retrofit plans, schedules, and upgrade requirements with multiple Boeing Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) such as design, strength, fatigue, hydraulics, flutter, and retrofit.
  • Author and review technical publication changes for corrections and new/improved maintenance practices.
  • Provide inputs to schedules and plans for on-site Time Compliance Technical Order (TCTO) support, including material and parts delivery, as well as manpower provisions.
  • Review, coordinate, and provide responses to Field Service technical requests and problem reports.
  • Support new business proposal estimates for future fleet upgrades.
  • Ensure the technical correctness of offered solutions.
  • Research and develop new repairs and configurations that incorporate existing CRI components.
  • Close coordination with multi-disciplined International Center Teams, including Export Administration and the Commercial Contracting Group.
  • Timely root cause corrective action (RCCA) to ensure future part procurements yield first-time quality
  • Collaborate with Boeing IPTs, USAF Technical Coordination Program, and Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) for Air Worthiness Certification of alternate spare parts
  • Mentor and guide an early career engineering teammate to facilitate their development and support of the RSAF F-15 customer
Security Clearance: This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is requiredRequired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Engineering
  • 3+ years of engineering experience on defense aircraft platforms
  • 1+ years of experience interfacing with aircraft production, modification, and/or retrofit teams
  • Experience directly interfacing with suppliers
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally (engineering, program management, modification team, and/or finance) and across multiple business units (BDS, BGS, BAO, etc.)
  • 1+ years of experience coordinating with end user customers USAF and/or USN including program management, engineering, logistics, and technical publications functions
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of experience analyzing and dispositioning aircraft structural non-conformances
  • 1+ years of experience providing technical oversight/management of external suppliers
  • 1+ years of experience working with legacy or new production F-15 aircraft
  • 1+ years of experience with Military Aircraft Airworthiness regulations
  • 1+ years of experience working with Supplier Statements of Work (SSOW)
Typical Education/Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Relocation:This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location option.
