Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Lead Software Engineer (Level 5) to join the Applications Development team within the F/A-18 Software Organization located in Berkeley, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.The Distributed Target Processor-Networked (DTP-N) software team is seeking individuals interested in developing software applications for F/A-18 mission systems. The DTP-N is the cornerstone of future Boeing Naval Aviation platforms and is based on a Service Oriented Architecture. It enables state of the art application development through Open Mission Systems (OMS) and container technology, allowing horizontal integration of applications across platforms.Potential signing bonus for eligible/qualified candidate Position Responsibilities:
- Leads activities to develop, document and maintain complex architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
- Leads development of code and integration of complex software components into a fully functional software system
- Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
- Provides technical leadership for software projects and leads software supplier management activities. Leads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics
- Leads software research and development projects
- Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations
- Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards
- Trains and mentors' others
- Works under consultative direction
- Ability to obtain Secret US Security Clearance (Post-Start)
- Experience working on Mission Systems Products
- Experience with large scale C system development
- Hands on experience developing on the Linux platform and Windows
- Familiarity/Experience with Service Oriented Architecture and Microservices
- Experience with embedded software architecture/development/design
- Familiarity/Experience developing code that runs on VxWorks
- Familiarity/Experience with Phantom Fusion
- Familiarity/Experience with Open Mission Systems (OMS)
- Working knowledge of Containerization technology
- Working knowledge of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
- Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience)
- In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
