Dispatcher Intermodal (Indianapolis)

Job Summary

Our company is looking for a reliable dispatcher to help grow with our team. The position will include doing daily yard checks , talking with drivers and working with our dispatch team on planning our current fleet of 25-30 drivers. The goal is to help keep costs down while also meeting our customers needs working with our owner operators.

Responsibilities and Duties

· Develop delivery routes and maintain contact with drivers throughout the day

· Collaborate with customer service to modify daily routes to accommodate the needs of customers

· Build relationships with drivers and customers to reduce the stress that comes with last minute schedule changes

· Monitor any sudden changes and work with drivers to establish new routes for timely deliveries

· Track and trace future inbound containers

Qualifications

· High school diploma/GED required

· Must be able to work a flexible schedule

· Strong knowledge of the dispatch process

· Ability to work in a team environment in high pressure situations

· Strong written and oral communication skills are essential

· Strong people skills

· Must have attitude as a problem solver
