Job Description
Employee Responsibilities:- Supporting the Bioreactor & Fermentation Development team in the set-up, operation, and associated analysis of microbial bioreactor processes
- General operations such as bioreactor building/sterilization, cleanup and turnover of bioreactors to maintain a set run schedule
- Sampling including cell count and metabolite analysis
- Collaborate with multiple areas to execute data mining efforts in support of long term project management
- Maintain records and test results following good manufacturing practices (GMP)
- Work independently and efficiently
- Document work clearly and perform procedures accurately
- Communicate effectively with client staff members
Qualifications
The Ideal Candidate would possess:- Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
- Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
- At least one to two years related laboratory experience including aseptic and cell culture techniques and/or microbial fermentation
- Exposure to 3L to 20L bioreactor operations and/or cultivation in associated platforms such as agar plates, spinner/shake flasks, or T-flasks
- General laboratory skills, aseptic technique, experience with pipettes, and experience with automation
- Experience using formulas and linking spreadsheets in Excel
- Prior statistical analysis experience
- Bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, chemical engineering, or biochemical engineering discipline
- Work will include periodic evening and/or early morning weekday hours as well as periodic weekend hours
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
Additional Information
Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living in a commutable distance to West Point, PA are encouraged to apply.
