Job Description

The Reliability Manager provides leadership and deploys the Reliability strategy in support of the plant’s strategic and production plans. He/she is the Site System Leader responsible for improving asset utilization, uptime and production throughout the site by implementing proven Maintenance Excellence and Reliability improvement processes. He/she ensures responsive and proactive maintenance support to all plant Operations partners by implementing sound work management processes. He/she is responsible for contributing to departmental budgeting, professional and technical development of his/her assigned salaried and hourly associates.

PRIMARY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Represents the Maintenance Department in daily interactions with Operational Asset Teams
  • Actively participates in Daily Standard Work (Commitment Based Safety, Daily Review of Production/Equipment performance, Maintenance Daily Briefing, Etc.)
  • Develops and deploys the Site Reliability Strategy leveraging Industry Best Practices
  • Develops or leads teams in the successful implementation of each component of the Reliability Strategy
  • Enforces/Coaches the required discipline within the Root Cause Failure Analysis Systems
  • Leads or coaches the Root Cause Failure Analysis investigations as needed
  • Enforces/Coaches the required discipline within the Failure Modes Analysis process
  • Leads or coaches the Failure Modes Analysis investigations as needed
  • Identify and completes projects as assigned
  • Partners with Operations to deploy the Annual Continuous Improvement process
  • Leads the site risk management strategy
  • Manages site reliability team and maintenance Planning/Scheduling team
  • Maintains effective relationships with Maintenance Shops to promote Best Practices
  • Provides mentoring, training, and coaching as required
  • Incorporates new technologies into Site Reliability Strategy
  • Develops and manages the Site Reliability Dashboard metrics
  • Owns and manages the autonomous maintenance program
  • Drives the precision maintenance process
  • Works with the maintenance director to move the reliability program forward
  • Owns and manages the FM global process and action item list
  • Evaluatesand reassessesthe reliability plan

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical degree is required. Masters in Engineering or equivalent advanced degree is desirable.
  • 5-10 years manufacturing maintenance reliability experience is required
  • Thorough knowledge of Maintenance Excellence and Reliability methods and practices, particularly related to maintenance efficiency and equipment uptime
  • Demonstrated proficiency using SAP-PM (or equivalent CMMS)
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in fast paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Proven track record of building effective Maintenance and Reliability teams capable to reducing the impact of Reactive Maintenance at the mill
