JOB PURPOSEDirectly responsible for the complete operation of a designated production area. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provide direct oversight to assure the orderly flow of the production line; coordinate materials, resources and staff to build finished products to meet daily production goals Post and update daily production metrics on the pacer board Alert the supervisor immediately of events that may hamper the meeting of daily production goals. Review production plan weekly for attainability. If plan is not attainable, suggest alternate plan to supervision/management asap, prior to work week. Follow production plan set by the planners, do not deviate from plan without supervisor s or manager s approval. Provide on-going feedback to the supervisor to aid in the evaluation of employees and temporary associates. Assure the accuracy of training new production associates including full time and temporary associates Ensure that all production line associates follow all work instructions. Follow the proper chain of command when interacting with other production lines or departments Champion lean manufacturing developments and practices on the production lines. Do this through the use of the following tools: 1) 5S, 2) 8 Waste Reduction, and 3) Standardize Work, Demonstrate sustained exemplary attendance, safe work practices, and professional behavior at all times. Assure a clean and safe work area at all times Alert the supervisor or manager of all unsafe work practices, any near misses, or workplace accidents in a timely manner. Other duties as maybe assigned. QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Qualifications This position contains supervisory responsibilities High school diploma or equivalent 2-4 years related experience in production field 1-year supervisory experience Preferred Qualifications Ability to work in a team environment and prioritize work.
