Carpenter (Full-Time) (Barnum)

Ideal Homes in Barnum is currently seeking a full-time carpenter. Ideal Homes is a full-service general contractor specializing in modular new home construction.

As a carpenter, you will be expected to perform basic carpentry tasks while assisting with all phases of construction and repair.

Job Description

Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions.

Must be able to read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements.

Must be able to organize assigned tasks, for completion alone or with help.

Must be able to complete and fulfill paperwork required including personal time sheets.

Some computer skills necessary.

Basic knowledge of residential construction and remodeling trades, practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, and materials.

Mathematical skill and analytical skills necessary to take and compute measurements to determine the size and amount of material needed.

Must be able to use hand and power tools proficiently, follow directions well and be flexible with a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.

Must be able to load and unload materials, prepare worksites, clean debris and remove trash, as well as other duties as assigned.

Must have experience on the following items: siding, roofing, rough framing (garages, etc.), stair framing, trim work, decks and window & door insulation.

Drywall experience preferred.

Must be able to work in all weather conditions.

Job Requirements

Ability to climb ladders for heights of up to 35 feet, crawl for distances of 50 feet and lift and manipulate objects of up to 80 pounds.

Reliable transportation to travel to job sites is necessary and carpenter hand tools will be required.

Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision while following established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.

Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
