Secondary Market Real Estate Manager, Evanston WY

Branch: Evanston, WY

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

Supervises: All Real Estate Lending Functions for all branches.

Summary: Directs the financial institution’s entire Secondary Market Real Estate Lending Program and supervises all phases of the Secondary Market RE lending operations. Guides and directs activities of all loan personnel under his or her immediate control and has supervisory authority over appraisers and secondary market activities of mortgage loan officers. Supervises contacts with builders and real estate and loan brokers. Responsible for the financial institution’s involvement in all secondary market activities, including negotiations for all loan participations and purchases.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in business administration, finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in branch management and mortgage lending.
  • Knowledge of lending policies and procedures, including state and federal regulations.
  • Extensive knowledge of secondary market loan programs (FHA, RD, VA, USDA, FNMA, FHLMC, etc.) and the packaging/shipping functions of each.
  • Ability to negotiate with vendors.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong financial analytical and underwriting skills.
  • Ability to evaluate and train others.
  • Extensive supervisory and managerial experience.

Specific Job Functions:

  • Compliance – Responsible for completion, within specific time frames, of all training modules. Responsible for assuring that all employees complete the assigned training modules within the time frames identified. Responsible for assuring that all personnel perform their duties within policy, procedures, and regulations.
  • Supervises all secondary market RE lending operations, including activities in departments for loan

origination and loan servicing.

  • Determines personnel requirements and establishes work schedules.
  • Responsible for training of departmental personnel; reviewing and evaluating performance; and recommending salary adjustments, promotions, discharges and other personnel-related actions.
  • Has contact with all loan officers and trainees either directly or through Branch Presidents’. Assists and counsels all personnel originating RE loans in negotiations with loan prospects.
  • Helps to establish performance standards for all personnel originating secondary market loans, evaluates results and assists in programs for improvements.
  • Stays abreast of regulations and legislation, as well as other political and policymaking events that directly affect the financial institution.
  • Supervises contact programs with local builders and real estate brokers inall market areas to ensure a continuing demand for loan funds.
  • Promotes and develops new business for the financial institution.
