Shift / Hours:

7:00 AM – 5:30 PM

4, 10 hour shifts per week

Primary Functions / Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for operating the CNC plasma machine to cut, trim, and scarf sheet metal to dimensions, contour, or bevel specified by blueprints, work orders, or layouts. This position will also operate the CNC Band Saw to cut, shear, slit, punch, crimp, notch, bend, or straighten metal. The type and scope of a project will greatly determine the duties of a plasma operator, but there are some primary duties that are consistent across the board.

Duties performed in this role will be conducted in a manufacturing shop environment where employees may be exposed to loud noises, machinery, and heavy equipment. All employees are required to wear the appropriate protective equipment when performing assigned duties.

Requirements:

GED, High School Diploma or Trade School Certificate preferred

Knowledge of commonly used CNC cutting machines, fabrication trade equipment, tools, materials, methods, and techniques

Able to accurately read and use various measuring devices

AWS Certification considered a plus

Physical Demands:

Stand/walk for entirety of 8 – 10-hour shift

Frequently lift and/or carry various types of materials, tools, and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance

Frequently push and/or pull various types of materials, tools, and equipment weighing up to 65 lbs without assistance

Frequently twist, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, and reach above shoulder level
