Position Title:

Agricultural Transport Shop Foreman

Position Description:

The Shop Foreman is a key member of our company, and fulfills a critical role in our growth plans. This position is responsible for the overall accountability for managing / overseeing a Heavy Duty Shop and maintaining a fleet of Semi Trucks, Trailers, and other equipment owned by the company. Responsibilities include the planning, scheduling, performing, directing, and evaluating the repair and servicing of equipment. The Shop Foreman will have significant control of maintenance equipment and will be in frequent contact with company employees that use this equipment. The Shop Foreman must routinely advise, consult, and help subordinates. They are also responsible for equipment repair schedules and records, including meeting any deadlines or requests. Additionally, the Shop Foreman must purchase any necessary parts to complete repairs, and so knowledge of repair procedures and basic computer software (to place orders) is necessary. The Shop Foreman, will be responsible for developing a service minded shop, while a cultivating a superior safety culture by working with management and other employees/ team members. The Shop Foreman will also be helping come up with a yearly budget for the shop and being able to communicate with management on a monthly basis in relation to the budget that was created for that calendar year.

Position Duties:

Oversee staff in Identifying, diagnosing, and performing the most technical automotive repairs.

Manage and maintain work environment safety, perform inspections, and ensure adherence to regulations.

Train and mentor junior repair technicians, leading by example.

Coordinate work among repair technicians, and perform vehicle inspections and repairs.

Monitor Service Department Performance with key metrics, including revenue, profitability, and efficiency

Work with our HR department to recruit, hire, motivate and maintain the highest quality staff

Contains cost by using warranty and evaluating parts and service options.

Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders and verifying receipt.

Work with our Safety Department to assure compliance with safety goals

Oversees vehicle appearance, cleanliness of equipment and shop

Maintain a clean and organized yard

Manage work order system and complete all paperwork that may be necessary including the tracking of DVIRS and ensuring their timely response and repair request if necessary.

Keep up with scheduled preventive maintenance plans. Schedules to be set in Cetaris with reminders

Accurately diagnosing equipment, often on the first time

Handle all over the road breakdowns, including after hour support

Update maintence software with pictures of any fresh/new damages to equipment. Also communicate with dispatch and safety any new damages.

Be able to perform road tests by riding along with a CDL- A holder

Shuttle trucks and trailers to outside repair facilities for services and warranty
