Find your future with us.Boeing's Product Support and Services Information Technology is currently looking for a Senior Programmer Lead to join us in supporting the CACTUS Product Development Team. CACTUS is a content authoring, management, publishing and delivery system for BGS Training and Professional Services.A successful candidate will consider themselves a Technical Leader. You will help design, develop and deploy solutions, participate in Agile software development teams based out of Puget Sound and India to deliver on commitments for product enhancements and support to BGS Maintenance and Flight Training Solutions Services and drive the technical direction of the product. While CACTUS is the primary product under the purview of this role, there is expectation that the Senior Programmer Lead will also provide technical leadership for other products within the T&PS space. This includes collaboration across other product teams to drive large scoped initiatives.Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical teams to design, program, test, implement, maintain and document computing applications
  • Analyze, gather and evaluate end user requirements. Work with Product Specialists, System and Technical Architects, UX Designer and Business SMEs to design systems and programs to meet highly complex business needs
  • Lead efforts to design, develop, test and deploy complex computing code and database objects to modify, upgrade and maintain software applications
  • Provide technical support for Production Support issues
  • Review system performance and identify and recommend improvements
  • Provide leadership and work guidance to offshore development teams and less experienced personnel
  • Conducts quality assurance activities such as peer reviews for offshore and onshore development teams
  • Provides guidance to technical teams on processes followed during development, estimation, code review, testing, code branching and deployment
  • Develops complex test plans to verify logic of new or modified programs
  • Creates appropriate documentation in work assignments such as program code, and technical documentation
This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • 3+ years' experience in building and deploying Java Applications
  • 5+ years' experience with DevOps and Agile Software Methodologies
  • 3+ years' experience with relational database design, PL/SQL scripting and optimization
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Understanding of Spring Framework
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Content Management Systems
  • Knowledge of SOA and WebServices - REST/Restful
  • Understanding of Cloud technologies - Azure, Pivotal Cloud Foundry
  • Experience with front end web programming and database backend development
  • Experience working in Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI/CD) using appropriate code versioning, build and test automation tools
  • Experience in leading offshore development teams including defining coding standards and good development practices
Typical Education/Experience: Typically 9 or more years' related work or military experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. Advanced degree (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred, but not required.Relocation:Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
