“The secret of good cooking is, first, having a love of it.” – James Beard

Can you relate to the statement above? Are you tired of the late nights, the corporate menus, and the unpredictable working hours that come with a traditional kitchen position in the restaurant world?

If you thrive on leading and educating a culinary team but wish you could retain creative freedom, help develop employees, take advantage of corporate benefits packages, and still be home every evening at a decent hour, we’d like to talk to you about joining Touchmark at Meadow Lake Village as a cook.

As a cook, you know the impact that a beautifully plated meal made from fresh, local ingredients has on a dining experience. You also know, from experience, what it takes to operate a successful kitchen. Our mission is to enrich people’s lives, and this position will give you the chance to enrich the lives of people every day.

In this role, you will have responsibilities such as educating servers and residents about the spices, flavors and secrets of each meal. Help the Dining Services Director in overseeing labor and food costs; building a team dedicated to great food and relationships; developing personal relationships with a community of wonderful people; and ensuring that each member of your team understands all aspects of cooking, food preparation, and presentation.

Above all else, your passion for excellent food and outstanding hospitality will be the “extra” that makes our community stand out above the rest!

The ideal candidate will:

Have a commitment to Touchmark’s values (excellence, teamwork, hospitality, integrity, and compassion), as well as a desire to model these values and to encourage others to be allies, friends and givers

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent

Have a certificate or degree in culinary arts or a related field, though this is not a requirement

Be willing to work weekends and holidays

Be able to lift and/or carry up to 60 pounds and stay on your feet for long periods of time

Maintain a positive and professional attitude when dealing with residents, family members, visitors, and team members

Benefits:

Touchmark is dedicated to providing the best for our residents, and it all begins with providing the best for our employees. That’s why we offer a competitive compensation and benefits package to our team members who work 30+ hours per week which includes:

Paid time off (including holidays)

Health, dental, and vision insurance plans for employees and eligible dependents

Education assistance

Bonus and retirement plans

Health care, dependent care, and commuter Flexible Spending Accounts

Supplemental insurance options
