Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Mid-Level Systems Engineer to join the team in a Systems Safety role in Berkeley, MO.The selected candidate will provide Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) System Safety mentorship and Boeing safety requirements to Engineering, Test & Technology (ET&T), Boeing Research & Technology and Boeing Test & Evaluation (BR&T and BT&E) labs, various programs and business partners in St. Louis and St. Charles, MO. This position follows Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) site EHS workplace safety rules, BR&T safety rules and BT&E workplace safety rules to provide safety mentorship to Boeing personnel and prevent equipment damage and environmental release. Safety requirements are driven by contract and Boeing /Industry/Gov't Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and standards. The overall goal is to ensure the test teams have identified all potential systems hazards and developed methods to eliminate them or control them to acceptable levels. The BT&E Lab Test Value Stream (LTVS) works early in the Product Test Life Cycle (PTLC) through reviewing test proposals, making recommendations for system safety performance, test plans, requirements and procedures. This candidate will apply system safety skills such as an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach that derives, evolves, and verifies a life-cycle balanced system and system of systems solution(s) which satisfies customer and partner expectations, and meets public acceptability.Position Responsibilities:

  • Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions
  • Evaluates customer and /operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces
  • Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture
  • Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success
  • Develops the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes
  • Resolves multi-functional technical issues
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes , lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelors degree or higher
  • 1+ years of experience in data analysis and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience in Environmental, Health & Safety
  • Experience in implementing and/or overseeing fall protection
Typical Education & Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience).
