DEPARTMENT: Safety & Human ResourcesREPORTS TO: Director of Safety & HRFLSA STATUS: Non-ExemptPOSITION TYPE: Full-Time POSITION SUMMARY:The Recruiting and Referencing Specialist focuses on recruiting company drivers and independent contractors for local, regional, dedicated and Over-the-Road positions, while adhering to DOT regulations, and company policies, as well as maintaining and promoting company safety goals. May also assist in filling open positions within the office support staff team as well as open driver positions within the Retail or Agricultural divisions of the company. The Recruiting and Referencing Specialist works with outside recruiting an advertising agencies, marketing companies, online vendors and social media websites to promote current job openings and is responsible for contacting, qualifying, and onboarding approved applicants. This position requires the ability to multitask, self-motivate, and communicate effectively to ensure success. Recruiting and advertising experience required; previous experience recruiting truck drivers preferred. Experience utilizing Social Media as an advertising and marketing tool required. Sales experience and transportation industry experience is a plus. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Recruit qualified company and independent contractor drivers to fill open seats/positions within the various fleets.Maintain up-to-date job postings and advertisements to attract qualified driver applicant leads.Coordinate with outside recruiters and advertising agencies, marketing companies and online vendors to recruit drivers.Utilize social media to promote the company's online presence and its driver brand.Maintain current job opportunities within the company's Applicant Tracking System and related job boards.Conduct outbound calls in response to various recruiting leads and respond to inquiries from prospective applicants.Conduct phone interviews to pre-qualify drivers and ensure they are a good fit for the team.Process applications as directed and serve as point person for potential drivers during recruiting process.Complete pre-employment referencing and background checks (DAC, MVR, CDLIS, PSP and DACH) as directed.Prepare initial Driver Qualification File for Safety Approval prior to driver being scheduled for orientation.Coordinate with Safety and Human Resources Department in scheduling new hire orientation for all new team members.Manage Rehire Campaign to re-attract qualified former drivers.Monitor regulatory, technology and industry trends as well as vendor programs to improve current recruiting processes.Monitor competition in driver hiring and strategize to improve company online presence and reputation.Process recruiting departmental account payables and maintain department budget tracker.Other duties as directed or assigned.
