Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Software Engineer to join the Virtual Warfare Center (VWC) group located in St. Louis, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.You will be a part of the software team that provides comprehensive data analytics solutions to the warfighter. The selected engineer will help design and implement the software solution to meet the customer needs. The candidate will also work with a diverse team of skilled and motivated coworkers to collaborate on high performance data processing software solution in support of several Internal and Contracted efforts. Candidates for this position will need to be self-motivated and have the ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment, adapt to changing priorities.This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.Position Responsibilities:
- Design, development and integration of Commercial off the Shelf and in-house software applications
- Supporting our Operator-in-the-Loop (OITL) virtual simulation events.
- Work with various stakeholders both external and internal, to perform system and integration test to ensure our simulation software environment is maintained
- Develop and sustain new and existing applications; as well as troubleshoot and resolve various software issues.
- 3+ years' experience with Linux and Windows environment
- 3+ years' experience with Version Control Systems such as Git
- 3+ years' experience with C
- 3+ years' experience with MySQL
- Experience with software simulation environment
- Experience working with distributed teams
- Ability to adapt and respond quickly to issues and events
- Ability to track and manage issues with a focus on swift resolution
- Experience working in an Agile Framework
- Basic knowledge of JSON and Python
- General knowledge of data analysis tool such as R and/or Elastic Stack
- Basic knowledge of Qt
- Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience)
- In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
